The Diaper Bag

This is my first attempt at making a diaper bag. I wanted a very large bag to hold all of the "stuff" a family of six needs when going out and about.

Here is a view of the inside. This bag has a lot of firsts for me. Elastic pockets, a zippered pocket in the lining, a magnetic clasp, and a divider.

Overall, I'm fairly pleased with this bag. There are a few things I'd change though. The pockets on the inside would be different - taller and I'd pay more attention to how wide they are. I'd make most of the pockets elastic. I'd tack the lining to the outside of the bag. The next one will be better... :)

One project finished...almost

My sister Amelia has been wanting a "Little House on the Prairie" dress for quite some time. So for her birthday, I found a pattern, bought some fabric, and invited her over to our house once a week to learn how to sew. This is the finished dress!

Now we just need to make an apron to go over it!

AFTER

Curls uncovered.

Eyes uncovered!! I can see, Mama!!

The golden curls...gone...hoping they will reappear with some gel or soomething.

So excited to have short hair like Mama! :)

BEFORE

Rebecca and Claire before their haircuts. Claire's been begging for months to get her hair cut. Rebecca, well, in order to keep her hair out of her face I have to clip it back and she's been eating the clips. 2, so far, have passed... Bleck!

Bummer

So, I pulled out a quilt top that I started about 3 years ago. Thought it was about time I finish it. Well, I'm pretty sure I'm going to hate it! The colors and fabrics that I picked out are not going to look good, I'm thinking...BUMMER!!! I'm going to finish it though, to see what it'll look like and maybe I'll have to just file it under NICE TRY. That's what I get for not knowing what I was doing when I started on this quilting adventure! Hopefully, I'll get better at picking out fabric as a result. If not, I'll have to let someone else pick out my fabric and let me do the sewing...not a bad idea...

And no, I'm not posting pics if it sucks!! :)
