How Quickly They Turn...

This all happened in the span of about 1 minute. (I didn't think to video tape inside the store. I should've, the tantrum was much worse while we were inside.) This is after she had taken her socks and shoes off and thrown them who knows where?! This is also not nearly as bad a tantrum as normal. As soon as she saw me videoing her she took it down a couple notches.

It amazes me how quickly my children can go from happy to raving lunatics! :) I'm sure they get it from Jason!! Hahahaha!! Oh how I wish I could say that and know that it's not from me. But, alas, a raving lunatic resides inside of me...

Dreaming

I'm a stay-at-home mom. I love being able to be home to watch our kids grow, to take care of them and my husband. I love that I don't have to split my time with a job outside of the home. (I can't imagine how other moms do it! Bless their hearts!) I am blessed to be able to do this!

Every once in awhile I think about the time when Jason would like me to go back to work. (When the youngest of our children starts school.) I start to think about the problems this could cause due to being an RN. Nursing jobs are not typically known for their flexibility. I want to be there when my kids get off the bus. I want to be easily available if one of our kids gets sick at school. I want to go to sporting events, band/choir concerts, and even parent/teacher conferences. Basically, I want to be in my kids' lives, I want to be there if and when they need me. In nursing I doubt I would be able to find the type of schedule that allows all of these things to happen without a hassle.

So, I've been dreaming...dreaming of a job that's flexible, a job that allows me to be home, a job that is more enjoyable than it is work, a job where the stress is little more manageable.

My latest dream has been of becoming a seamstress of sorts. Mostly doing alterations for people. I'd also like to make things that people want and that I enjoy making. Maybe quilts, bags, aprons, clothes, prom/homecoming dresses etc. I so enjoy the creativity of it all! Granted, I don't know how to do all of this...yet. Don't get me wrong, I do know some basic things about sewing. I'm working on a quilt now, I've made some articles of clothing, I've done some minor alterations. I'd like to learn a lot more.

Even grander...the idea of having a shop here in the country, outside of Gilboa...Alterations and More or The Gilboa Boutique or Sewing on Road M... :)

Crazy? Maybe. But it's something for me to think about, pray about, and dream about...

Our Little Rocket

The kids loved screaming out, "Go Rockets!" at the PG midget super bowl football game! (The Rockets won, by the way!) Watching Claire, I can't help but think, maybe she's a little bit like me! ;)

The "Calapillar"

I'm just loving these fall days and all the fun things to discover outside! :) Isaac finally was gutsy enough to play with a bug! I love the way he tries to say caterpillar! Poor Claire wasn't as excited to see this little guy. :)

Family Pictures

Our last family picture was taken when Claire was in utero. It was about time we had one taken with her actually visible! :)

Kids' Pictures 1

I decided about 2 years ago to start taking the kids' pictures myself. It's so not worth the time, money, and frustration to take them to a real photographer. So, here's another one of my "trades". I am definitely not a master of this one, but it's good enough! :)

Our sweet boy, Isaac Matthew. 4 years old. He was born to laugh, just as his name suggests. (Isaac means he will laugh.)

Our precious little girl, Claire Judith. 2 years old.

She's a goofball! Here she was tickling her own belly! Cracks me up!

Craft Projects

I finally wrote a list of all of the projects I have started so that I can hopefully get to them!! I've decided that I REALLY need lists to keep me focused...hoping that it works!!

After I wrote my list I got this project done in 2 days.

It's an apron for my sister Jessie. I've been meaning to get it done for about 2 months now. I made a coordinating one for my niece Mary, for her birthday back in August. I thought they would have fun having similar aprons to wear together! :) Here's some pictures of the one I made for sweet Mary Abigail!

Now on to the next project!! Wish me luck! :)

Giving it a try

So, I'm totally new to this blogging thing. I've been reading some of my friends blogs and decided it looked like a neat thing to do for various reasons. I'm excited to be able to share pictures, especially with my sister and brother-in-law! I'm also excited to be writing down some of the craziness of this life of ours. And just sharing thoughts here and there.

As the title of this blog suggests, I tend to dabble in a lot of different things. I also tend to start projects and before finishing one start another or three. Which means I don't get things done very efficiently. I do my best, but I am far from a master at anything. So, we'll see how this "project" goes.

Here's to giving it a try...
